Christian Formation
We invite all youths to explore a way of life shaped by practices that respond to God's Grace and reflect God's love for them, for others, and for all creation on Sunday mornings at 10:20.
First Sundays (Youth Group)
Every first sunday of the month, the youth gather to build community and live out the practices they are learning about on Sunday. We cook for each other and for the homeless; we pray for each other and the world; we ask questions about ourselves and our community. And, we have fun playing on our Wii and shooting some pool!
Lock-ins, Camping Trips, and More
Several times throughout the year, the youth get together for special activites. Upcoming events will be announced in This Week at SPR.
Youth as Liturgical Leaders
Choirs
Children lead our community in worship. The Early Choristers and regular Choristers (ages 8 & up) lead the 9:15 congregation in song every week. Both rehearse weekly on Thursdays. Our Royal School of Church Music-inspired program teaches excellent musicianship as well as liturgical leadership. For more information, email Dent Davidson (dwd@sp-r.org).
Acolytes
Acolytes lead our processions, help the clergy at the Communion table, and assist in the leadership of the liturgy. Children who serve as acolytes learn the rhythm of worship and teach it to others. Everyone eight years old or older is welcome. For more information, email Peter Lane (pcl@sp-r.org)
