Serve God's World

Renewed by worship and life in community, we are committed to serving God's world. St. Paul & the Redeemer's outreach ministries seek to serve others in our neighborhood, in the larger urban community, and beyond the borders of the United States. In addition to providing services to the disadvantaged and the vulnerable, we believe it is crucial to challenge systemic oppression by seeking justice for the marginalized.
The Cathedral Counseling Center at St. Paul & the Redeemer provides psychotherapy and other forms of logical counseling. We serve the local community through cooking for the Hyde Park & Kenwood Open Kitchen lunch program, collecting food for the Hyde Park & Kenwood Food Pantry and supporting a men's transitional shelter called Matthew house. We are charter members of a Hyde Park - Kenwood transitional housing program. Our community organizing task force, the Justice Team, works to create equitable distribution of resources on the South Side. The Haiti Task Force oversees the parish's active relationship with Episcopal organizations in Haiti, and SPR is currently planning an After School Care program for neighborhood children seeking a safe and enriching place to spend after-school hours.
