Joy Ride 2009: A Voyage of Wonder

This year's Vacation Bible Camp was a huge success, bringing a week of joy to nearly 50 kids in our community.

Vision:

Vacation Bible Camp has become one of the major ways we serve children in the local community and beyond. Every summer, usually in August, we offer an outstanding Bible camp, which welcomes a diverse population of children from the congregation and from the surrounding communitees.

SPR teens and adults serve as volunteer staff, and stipends are given to college-age young adults who have major leadership roles in the program.

A special fearture of Vacation Bible Camp at SPR is the opportunity for children, youth, and adults to interact across boundaries of age, race, and socio-economic background. In addition, VBC provides an opportunity for SPR members and non-parishioners to meet and build relationships. Music, crafts, games, food, and multi-media are all used to introduce participants to the loving God we encounter at SPR.

To insure diversity, scholarships are gladly provided to anyone who requests them.
