Vision:

Vacation Bible School has become one of the major ways we serve children in the local community and beyond. Every summer, usually in August, we offer an outstanding Vacation Bible School, which welcomes a diverse population of children from the congregation and from the surrounding communitees.

SPR teens and adults serve as volunteer staff, and stipends are given to college-age young adults who have major leadership roles in the program.

A special fearture of Vacation Bible School at SPR is the opportunity for children, youth, and adults to interact across boundaries of age, race, and socio-economic background. In addition, VBS provides an opportunity for SPR members and non-parishioners to meet and build relationships. Music, crafts, games, food, and multi-media are all used to introduce participants to the loving God we encounter at SPR.

To insure diversity, scholarships are gladly provided to anyone who requests them. Following the success of past VBS programs, our goal for 2008 is to increase the number of participants to 80. Look for other enhancements as well.
